July 18, 2015 (El Cajon)--Saturday morning July 18th began with an early morning wake up call by Mother Nature herself . The sound of lightning - THUNDER!

It began here around 6:14 a.m. with faint rumbling in the distance. The intensity increased as the storm approached and was soon roiling over the valley of El Cajon, making itself known to all.

Light rain began at first, then at about 6:40 a.m. an overhead, loud, sky ripping crack of thunder opened the way for some heavy rain to fall. Although short lived in duration, nearly 10 minutes, it was a very welcome spate of relief from the dry conditions we’ve been experiencing.

Although doing little to abate the long drought, this storm was certainly refreshing never the less.

After several more cracks of thunder, the worst is over, fading into the distance, the spectacular half hour show moved on and was mostly a fading memory.
