RAINBOW MAN DIES AFTER WOOD-CHIPPING ACCIDENT

December 16, 2010 (Rainbow) – Martimiano Morales Carreon, 49, died on December 14th of injuries that he suffered after his foot became entangled in a pile of brush, pulling him into a commercial wood chipper at 9329 Moon Ridge Road, Rainbow.

 

The victim had been working with his son to clearn trees next to an avocado grove when the tragedy occurred.

 

 

The victim's son was able to stop the machine and pull out his father, who had suffered major trauma to his lower extremities. Deputies from the Fallbrook Sheriff Substation responded, along with paramedics, who pronounced him dead at the scene at 3:40 p.m.

 

The Department of Industrial Relations Division of Occupational Safety & Health and the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office are handling the investigation.
