September 13, 2018 (Ramona) - The Ramona Art and Wine Festival selected a painting by Jamie Dougherty, a local artist, for the first commemorative poster to promote the Festival, area artists, and Ramona wine. Jamie, along with Patrick Korch, a painter and sculptor from Poway, was one of two semi-finalists chosen from submissions by participating Festival artists.

Jamie’s original painting will be auctioned at the Festival, and the limited edition, signed prints of the art will be previewed and available for sale at the Artist’s Reception, sponsored by the Ramona Art Guild and free to the publicon Friday, October 26, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 2 Create Gallery, 438 Main St., Ramona. The prints will also be for sale at the Festival.

“We were very pleased with the awe-inspiring submissions we received to produce our first commemorative poster of the Festival. We know we have great artists here—evidenced by the unique painted wine barrels we auction and the local artists who exhibit every year at the Festival.  The art that was submitted certainly corroborated that and made our final decision challenging, said Elaine Lyttleton, co-chair of the Festival and President of the H.E.A.R.T. Murals Project, the non-profit organization that benefits from the Festival.

Jamie’s painting highlights art, wine, and the Ramona hills in vibrant colors. She has been creating artwork for more than fifteen years. Born and raised in Ramona, she still lives there with her husband and their two children. Jamie loves to create a wide range of artistic designs but she is best known for her female faces. Jamie is also a product designer in the craft and hobby industry, and has had two signature collections with Prima Marketing Inc. In addition, she has independently produced Art stencils and also self-published adult coloring books. Her fine art skills explore watercolors, mixed media, and sculpting.

Jamie also has painted a wine barrel to be auctioned at the Festival, which will be on display at Reds Whites & Brews at 629 Main St., Ramona, CA (sponsored by Chris Anderson REALTOR) until October 26.
