July 26, 2011 (Rancho San Diego)-- Rancho San Diego Little League players on “The Dawgs” clinched the Section 7 Championship last week. The boys, ages 9-10, are now vying to win Southern Califiornia’s Subdivision 3 in order to face off against Northern California teams in the state championships.

The Dawgs triumphed over Twin Hills to win the Section 7 title by a 17-3 score. Since then, they've gone on to win two of their first three Subdivision 3 play-off games, moving closer toward a chance to vie for the state title.

“Everyone participated in this victory," Todd  Nadeau said of the team's Section 7 win. "Riley O'Sullivan dominated on the mound. Billy Tellous made a fantastic run and stretch catch in right field. Ryan made several fine plays at third and Austin Scribner showed some smooth fielding at second. All the boys showed a great eye at the plate, drawing several walks from the Twin Hills pitching staff and lining multiple hits all over the field."

He added, “Hats off to Twin Hills, they showed spirit throughout the All Star tournament held in Spring Valley this week. The Dawgs now progress to the Sub-Division III South tournament in Corona on Saturday.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Dawgs scored two more victories in the Section 7 playoffs in Corona, with 10-2 and 10-0 wins, said teaam Mom Colleen Nadeau.

But on Monday, the team lost 0-2. Pressure is on for tonight’s game, which the team must win to remain in the play-offs. If they go on to win again on Wednesday and Thursday, they will advance to the state championships.

Congratulations to the Dawgs:
