Additionally, according to Pro Football Focus, Penny has the third most rushing yards after contact (680) and is second nationally with 46 missed tackles off rushes. He is averaging 97.1 yards per game after contact.

Last Saturday against Boise State, Penny eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards for the second consecutive season, becoming the third FBS player in FBS play this season to break 1,000 yards and the sixth Aztec with multiple 1,000-yard rushing seasons in program history. Breaking the 1,000-yard mark in just the seventh game of the season, he is tied for the third-fewest games to reach 1,000 yards in program history. Only Donnel Pumphrey (2016) and Marshall Faulk (1992) reached 1,000 yards in fewer games (both in their sixth game).
