December 12, 2018 (San Diego) – From a year-end wrap-up at the Book Catapult to book discussions, author signings and a holiday writers’ potluck, here are the upcoming local literary events in late December.

December 16 (Sunday, 2:00 p.m.) — Simon Benjamin signs Scam Seduction. Simon Benjamin is a former real estate consultant who graduated from the University of Southern California and local University of San Diego. His debut novel, Scam Seduction, is a crime-thriller inspired by true events. It explores the many ways in which money can seduce in the worlds of government and big business.

December 18 (Tuesday, 7:30 p.m.) — Warwick's will host Nicolás Obregón to discuss and sign his new book Sins as Scarlet. Obregón is British, born of Spanish parents, and grew up between London and Madrid. Currently an editor for a legal publishing company, he previously worked as a travel writer and gained extensive experience of Japan. 

After a brutal murder investigation ripped apart his life, Kosuke Iwata quit both his job as a detective with the Tokyo Police Department and his country, leaving Japan for the hopefully sunnier shores of Los Angeles, California. But even though he's left his old life behind, he still has to make a living and Iwata sets up shop as a private investigator. But murder still follows him.

December 21 (Friday, 7:00 p.m.) — December's book discussion pick is Sea Witch by Sarah Henning. The Mysterious Galaxy Young Adult Book Club has one simple mission, to bring together people who love reading Young Adult in a fun group where we can talk about amazing stories.

December 17 (Monday, 6:30 p.m.) — The San Diego Writers and Editors Guild Holiday Potluck Party will be held in place of this month’s meeting, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in our usual meeting space. The holiday potluck features hors d’oeuvres, salads, desserts and other finger foods. All dishes are provided by the members as potluck items. Beverages will be provided by SDWEG. SDWEG members and their guests are welcome to attend.
