October 2, 2017 (La Mesa) – A La Mesa resident allegedly shot a man in the head at Glen and Mariposa Streets, near State Route 125 above Lemon Avenue elementary school Sunday afternoon around 4:45 p.m. The street is also close to La Mesa Village where the Oktoberfest was ongoing at the time.

La Mesa Police arrived to find the wounded man lying in the street.  He was transported to a hospital in “very, very serious condition,” Lt. Chad Bell told reporters at the scene, Fox 5 reports.

The man was reportedly known to the shooter, but they were not related.  The shooter was detained for questioning but had not been arrested as of last night.
