October 3, 2010 (Boulevard) – Sacred Rocks campground and RV park in Boulevard is kicking off a new activity for its two- and four-legged friends: horse camping October 15-17. If you bring a horse, you camp for free! Or if you prefer, enjoy trail riding through beautiful backcountry scenery – all free for a day.

Horse camps are primitive; water is available but please bring ties or corrals. The terrain includes rolling hills, trees and native chaparral, miles of trails, and some shade.  The facility also has cottage-style rentals and standard camping and RV facilities on the premises, as well as a rec center, stargazing plateau, picnic and recreation facilities.  For our prior stories on Sacred Rocks, see http://www.eastcountymagazine.org/node/2303 and http://www.eastcountymagazine.org/node/2669.
