November 20, 2010 (El Cajon)--The theme for the 64th Annual Mother Goose Parade on Sunday, November 21st, is a “Salute To Heroes!” A special World Memorial float will carry a New York Firefighter and an EMT, both disabled at 9/11, and a Port Authority Police Officer also survived the attacks at the World Trade Center on 9/11. Officer David Lim was among a handful of survivors found in "Stairwell B" after the collapse.

The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of East Main Street and Magnolia Avenue, traveling eastbound on Main Street to Second Street in El Cajon. The Grand Marshals of the parade are members from both the Northern La Mesa, California and the Monterrey, Mexico teams that played in the historic 1957 Little League World Series Championship.

The Mother Goose parade is considered the largest parade in San Diego County and the largest of its type west of the Mississippi. Each year, the parade attracts thousands of spectators to the streets of El Cajon to view the parade the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

Downtown El Cajon invites visitors to stay around when the parade is over for "After the Goose" activities including rides, prizes, and special shopping discounts.
