May 16, 2018 (Ramona) -- The historic town of Ramona is well known for its wineries and breweries. Mom and Pop brewing companies hold a special place in my heart and I love their genuine character. If you are looking for the same experience, look no further than Reds, Whites and Brews in downtown Ramona.

Reds, Whites and Brews opened about a year and a half ago in the former Pioneer Store (built in 1883) on Main Street. Since its purchase, the owners of Reds, White and Brews have been carefully restoring and remodeling the interior to preserve its history.

On the outside of the building hangs patriotic bunting along with a proudly displayed American flag. Upon walking into the establishment, I was fascinated to see that the original wood floors, paneling, and store cabinets were still in place. Reds, Whites and Brews looks like it belongs in an old western movie!

I pulled up a seat at one of the tables made out of wine barrels and perused the menu. I could see that they serve local wines and specialty craft beers. Whether you are a wine, beer, cider, or wine slushy person, there is something on their menu for you. The bartender was nice enough to offer pub snacks while I decided on what to order.

I looked over my shoulder to see a slushy machine diligently churning through sangria. Considering the sweltering afternoon heat, I thought to myself, “I HAVE to try that!” Shortly after speaking to the bartender, a glass of sangria slushy graced my presence. It is difficult to describe how refreshed I felt after indulging in this frozen, boozy delight.

Hopefully, I have convinced you enough to visit Reds, Whites and Brews at 629 Main Street in Ramona, CA. They are open Tuesday through Sunday from 12-9 p.m. and on Mondays from 4-9 p.m. For more information, you may contact them by calling (619) 517-2131 or visit their website at http://www.redswhitesandbrews.wine/.

If you are looking for a historic location with down-to-earth hospitality, Reds, Whites and Brews is the place to be!
