Rancho San Diego festivities also include snowman contest, bonfire, and more

December 11, 2010 (Rancho San Diego)--The Rancho San Diego-Jamul Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Olde Time Christmas Village December 11th from 3-9 pm in the Rancho San Diego Professional Center, 3855 Avocado Bl., La Mesa.

This free public event celebrates children and community. Activities include a snowman building contest, a bonfire, free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday treats, sweets and more.

“What a great opportunity to give families a chance to have a great old-fashioned evening and get a complimentary Santa Village photo. Often times children may not be privileged enough to afford their Santa photo at the commercial malls, this way all children can enjoy the festivities and each receive a same-day professional photo by Master Photographer David Knoll—free!” stated chamber CEO Valerie Harrison.

Come enjoy a traditional holiday with family, neighbors and friends at the Olde Time Holiday Village. Enjoy a festive Christmas village while sipping hot chocolate, coffees, or delicious holiday cider. Savor a variety of scrumptious deserts offered by neighboring merchants. Delight in a traditional 'Christmas Holiday Social' for the family. Watch the kiddies be excited by a visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus and Santa's elves. Each child may receive one free photo; photos will be taken from 3-5:30 p.m.

Dreaming of a white Christmas? “We’ve got snow!” Harrison said. In addition, a snowman building contest will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Also enjoy the warmth and aroma of a bonfire--and join in roasting chestnuts.

In addition to these traditional treats for the whole family, you can also visit with local firefighters—and experience climbing in the firetrucks. This community event is free to the public. Vendors Welcome. The Chamber also seeks donations or loans of holiday decorations for this festive event.
