Brothers had long criminal pasts, court records reveal

January 16, 2012 (Santee)--Anthony Tesch, the man who was shot inside a Santee home on January 13, has died at a local hospital. He was 41, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.

Today, the San Diego Sheriff announced the arrest of Joseph Todd Hall in the 10000 block of Riverford Avenue, Lakeside. He was booked into the San Diego Central Jail on a murder charge.

"It was learned during the investigation, the victim and suspect were brothers," a release issued by the Sheriff's department reveals.

A search of San Diego Superior Court records online reveals that Hall has been arrested and charged with at least 13 crimes in San Diego County from 1994 to 2010.  The records are not on microfilm and more detailed records were not readily availble over the holiday weekend.

Tesch, the shooting victim, also had numerous arrests, though the most recent was in 2005, nearly seven years ago.  Tesch and Hall were listed as co-defendants on cases in 1997 and 2000.

The shooting occurred shortly after 5 a.m. in the 10000 block of Prospect Avenue in Santee. ECM News partner 10 news reported that the victim's sister said she heard a gunshot while in the shower, and found her brother on the shot suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital by helicopter and was on life support, but died yesterday morning.
