October 30, 2012 (San Diego) -- Looking for a safe environment for your little vampires, pirates and mermaids on Halloween night? You’re invited to the County Department of Parks and Recreation’s FREE Annual Safe Halloween Carnivals.

Take your pick from three locations—and be sure to come in costume. The carnivals will take place at the County’s Lakeside, Spring Valley and Fallbrook Community Centers. Thousands of people are expected to attend the community events, which are all about dressing up, having fun and staying safe. Enjoy music, games, food, drinks and healthy treats. All three locations will offer age-specific costume contests. Local businesses are donating prizes and park staff and volunteers will host the games and activities.
