Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez leads Aztecs for second consecutive day

March 12, 2019 (Flagstaff) - Six San Diego State divers finished 1-meter action at the NCAA Zone E Championships on Wednesday. For the second consecutive day, the Aztecs were led by freshman Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez, who reached the finals and placed 13th with a two-round score of 542.05.

Lechuga Gonzalez placed 10th after the preliminary round, logging a score of 275.85. Marie Yacopino also recorded a top-25 finish, posting a score of 247.60 as SDSU's second top finisher. 

 

Delaney Gallagher (230.05) and West Hills alum Gina Cazares (221.85) finished 34th and 40th, respectively. Emily Reed and Lexi Letts rounded out the Aztecs on the day, posting scores of 193.90 and 187.10, respectively. 

 

The Aztecs will wrap up the NCAA Zone E Championships tomorrow with platform competition.
