Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez posts top platform score for Aztec divers

March 13, 2019 (Flagstaff) - The six San Diego State divers in action at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships concluded their efforts on Wednesday with platform board competition. For the third consecutive day, Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez led the Aztecs, reaching the final round and placing 13th. 

Lechuga Gonzalez improved upon a preliminary score of 203.90, originally placing the freshman 17th, utilizing a 235.70 in the finals to jump up four spots to 13th. 

 

West Hills alum Gina Cazares also recorded a top-25 finish in the preliminary round, scoring at 192.85.

 

Lexi Letts (175.85), Delaney Gallagher (174.75), Emily Reed (173.10) and Marie Yacopino (164.40) finished 31st, 33rd, 34th, and 37th, respectively to round out the Aztec scores on the final day of competition. 

 

The SDSU swimming and diving team now looks towards the NCAA Championships, where the Aztecs will send swimmers Courtney Vincent, Morganne McKennan and Klara Thormalm to Austin, Texas from March 20-23.
