SDSU LACROSSE FALLS TO ST. JOSEPH'S 13-6

March 30, 2023 (Philadelphia) - The Aztec lacrosse team (5-8) fell to Saint Joseph’s (5-6) 13-6 Thursday evening. SDSU trailed the Hawks 7-2 through the first half and were unable to mount a comeback in the second half despite finishing with six goals.

SDSU was led in scoring by Deanna Balsama who netted two goals, while Caitlin Jones, Sydney Wolfington, and Kate Christos added one each.

Saint Joseph’s outshot SDSU 32-21 and 20-16 in shots on goal. They also had a 12-11 advantage over the Aztecs in draw controls.

Deanna Balsama scored twice while the other Aztec goals came from Caitlin Jones, Sydney Wolfington, and Kate Christos. Balsama also contributed one assist.

Cailin Young led the team with two ground balls.

Goalkeeper Sam Horan had 7 saves on the day.
