October 4, 2016 (San Diego) - San Diego State goalkeeper Adam Allmaras (San Diego, Calif.) was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week for his performances in the Aztecs’ recent Pac-12 matches against Oregon State and Washington, the website announced Tuesday.

With his award, the Aztec redshirt junior becomes the fourth SDSU student-athlete to receive national team recognition this year and second this week following Matt Callahan (College Soccer News – Oct. 3), Jeroen Meefout (College Soccer News – Sept. 13) and Travis Nicklaw (TDS – Sept. 6).

Allmaras posted his seventh shutout of the season in the Aztecs’ 1-0 overtime victory over No. 16 Washington last Sunday. The La Costa Canyon High alumnus made six saves, including five in the first half, to lift the Scarlet and Black to it first triumph over the Huskies since 2010. UW entered the contest with a conference-leading 19 goals, but Allmaras came up huge for the 17th clean sheet of his career.

Allmaras, who compiled 12 saves for the weekend, also had six stops against Oregon State on Sept. 29, including two in the first overtime session to help preserve a 1-1 draw.

Entering the week, Allmaras is second in the nation with a .911 save percentage and occupies the third spot with a .373 goals against average. He also ranks 38th with 41saves on the season.

Allmaras and the 13th-ranked Aztecs (6-1-3, 1-0-1 Pac-12) look to keep the momentum rolling this week when they welcome No. 19 UCLA to the SDSU Sports Deck on Saturday, Oct. 8, beginning at 7 p.m. PT.  Admission is free, and the match will be streamed live on GoAztecs.com.
