August 1, 2024  (San Diego’s East County) – Musical entertainment options in East County for September including Celtic Thunder singers from  Ireland, English protest singer/songwriter Billy Bragg, acclaimed songwriters/musicians Ray LaMontagne and Gregory Alan Isakov, country music singers Sara Evans and Eric Paslay, and the famed Jacksons.

 Below are details on their upcoming local concerts at venues including The Magnolia, SDSU, and Sycuan.

CELTIC THUNDER ODYSSEY AT THE MAGNOLIA SEPT. 16

Straight from Dublin, Ireland, Celtic Thunder brings its Odyssey tour to The Magnolia theater in El; Cajon on September 16.  Celtic Thunder has been hailed as BILLBOARD’s Top World Music Artist.  The show features electrifying solo vocal performances from each member, backed by the phenomenal Celtic Thunder Band, weaving live music with captivating storytelling and immersive stagecraft.

BILLY  BRAGG PROTEST MUSIC AT THE MAGNOLIA SEPTEMBER 28

RAY LAMONTAGNE AND GREGORY ALAN ISAKOV AT SDSU ON SEPTEMBER 15

Acclaimed songwriters and musicians Ray LaMontagne and Gregory Alan Isakov will co-headline a concert at the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at San Diego State University on Saturday, September 14.

Montagne has had six of his eight rock albums reach Billboard’s Top 10. Additionally, his 2010 album God Willin’ & the Creek Don’t Rise won the Grammy for Best Folk Album and was nominated in the coveted Song of The Year category for “Beg Steal or Borrow.”

Isakov is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter with over a billion streams on Spotify. Appaloosa Bones is his first new album in nearly five years and is filled with his signature “emotionally evocative songwriting style” (NPR Music).   Find tickets at https://as.sdsu.edu/calcoast/.

SARA EVANS AT SYCUAN SEPTEMBER 20

Multi-platinum entertainer Sara Evans will perform at Sycuan’s Live and Up Close Theatre on Friday, September 20. 

As the fifth most-played female artist at country radio in nearly the last two decades — she’s notched over 20 top 15 singles, including her five No. 1 singles “No Place That Far,” “A Real Fine Place To Start,” “Born to Fly,” and “Suds In The Bucket” and “A Little Bit Stronger.” She’s been named Academy of Country Music’s Top Female vocalist a as well as numerous American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Country Music Association, CMT and Grammy Awards nominations.

ERIC PASLAY AT THE RIVER SEPTEMBER 26

Country music singer Eric Paslay will perform at Sycuan’s “The River” outdoor poolside venue on September 26.  His album for EMI Nashville includes the hit singles ”Friday Night,” Song About a Girl,” and  “She Don’t Love You.”

THE JACKSONS AT SYCUAN AUGUST 30

The Jacksons have been performing for 50 years, starting as the Jackson 5, vaulting to fame in Motown and launching Michael Jackson’s career. They’ve been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Recording Academy’s Grammy Hall of Fame. Now the Jacksons are coming to Sycuan’s Heritage Event Center for a performance on August 30th at  8 p.m.
