She added, “These kitchens represent the entire gamut of up-to-the-minute design: European minimalism, nostalgic Arts & Crafts, authentic Tuscan, sleek Mid-Century and opulent Country, plus plenty of transitional and contemporary styles. Colors range from cool neutrals to eye-popping brights.”
“And, since kitchens are located throughout the county – along the coast and in East County – ticket holders can visit a few projects close to home or spend the whole day exploring the breadth of design taking place locally,” Machado-Rosas added.
Stylish projects range from expansive great room renovations to cost-conscious tract home remodels. The designers show how to transform dated, dark and inefficient areas into open, spacious and multifunctional showplaces. These kitchens display the latest trends in sustainability, space planning, appliances, surfaces, and storage solutions.
“The ASID kitchen tour provides an excellent opportunity to see actual kitchen installations and speak to kitchen design experts in a casual setting,” said Mary Kellejian, San Diego ASID chapter president, who is participating on the tour. “This is a great, non-threatening way to explore the benefits of hiring a professional designer.”
