Police seek leads on suspect, described as bald Hispanic man in white polo shirt

April 30, 2017 (La Mesa) – A security guard was injured by a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his thigh at 1:35 a.m. outside Jolt N Joe’s Bar.  Several vehicles parked outside were also struck.

La Mesa Police responded after several 911 calls reported sounds of gunfire outside the bar, located at 8076 La Mesa Blvd. in La Mesa. Upon arrival, police officers learned there had been several fights at the establishment.

“During a fight outside, an unknown Hispanic male began shooting a handgun towards the front of the bar, hitting several vehicles and injuring one of the bar’s security guards,” a release issued by police states.

The security guard was transported to a local hospital. La Mesa Police Department detectives are investigating the shooting.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a bald or shaved head, wearing a white polo style shirt.  At this time, there is no further description of the suspect and the motivation for the shooting is unknown.
