SKETCH RELEASED OF MAN WHO ATTACKED AND INJURED ALPINE WOMAN IN JUNE

August 17, 2017 (Alpine) — Authorities seek public help to find the man shown in this artist’s sketch.  He is wanted for attacking a 63-year-old woman who was walking in Alpine on the evening of June 20th, breaking her nose and causing numerous scrapes and bruises.

The victim was walking on Harbison Canyon Road near Hunter Pass when the assailant jumped her from behind and pushed her into a fence, according to the Sheriff’s Department.  She fought him off and ran, but he caught up to her.  The attacker knocked her to the ground and the woman kicked him, breaking free.

The victim described the assailant as a white man, 20-30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with wavy hair.  He may have driven off in a small, light-colored pickup truck.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 or contact the agency online at sdcrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
