SMALL PLANE CRASH AT RAMONA AIRPORT

April 23, 2016 (Ramona) - Earlier today, deputies from the Ramona Sheriff's Substation assisted firefighters with CAL FIRE with a plane crash at Ramona Airport.    



The small, two-seat plane crashed near the CAL FIRE helicopter landing pad just after 10:00 a.m., according to Sgt. Andrew Mowins.   

The 56-year-old pilot walked away from the crash with only minor cuts.  He was treated at the scene by firefighters.  No one else was on-board the plane.  No one on the ground was injured.  

Ramona Airport officials have notified the FAA and NTSB about the plane crash.  There is no other information available at this time.
