June 22, 2014 (Lakeside) – A Lakeside man, 45, died at the scene of an accident that occurred on June 13 at 12:49 a.m. on State Route 52 east, just west of Cuyamaca Street.
According to the CHP, the victim was driving a 2013 Lexus G35 at a high rate of speed entering a curve when he lost control and plunged down an embankment south of the roadway. The vehicle struck a concrete wall and overturned several times.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt but succumbed to his injuries, said Officer Kevin Pearlstein. The collision is under investigation.
