STARBUCKS ROBBED NEAR LAKE MURRAY

November 8, 2011 (La Mesa) – Most late-night visitors to Starbucks are picking up lattes or holiday beerages.  But two men at the Starbucks on Lake Murray Boulevard last night took cash at gunpoint, adding to a brewing string of robberies in La Mesa.

The men, one armed with a handgun, ordered employees to the ground and demanded money at 8:26 p.m. last night. Employees cooperated with demands and the suspects fled on foot. They were last seen running southbound on Kiowa Drive from Lake Murray Boulevard, according to Lt. Matt Nicholass with La Mesa Police.

Officers searched the surrounding area with the assistance of the San Diego Sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter but were unable to locate the suspects.

No customers were inside the business at the time of the robbery and no one was injured.

Descriptions of the suspects are as follows:

Suspect #1: Black male, mid 20’s, 5’9” to 5’10”, 180-190 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue button up shirt, dark blue pants, dark grey hooded sweatshirt, black wool type gloves and white shoes. The suspect had a black ski mask over his face.

Suspect #2: Black male, mid 20’s, 5’9” to 5’10”, 180-190 pounds. He was wearing a light grey sweatshirt with a blue T-shirt over it, dark blue pants, a grey bennie cap and white shoes. The suspect had a black scarf over his face. He was armed with a black handgun.
