February 6, 2014 (Alpine)—A stolen car being pursued by Sheriff’s deputies crashed into another vehicle in Alpine on February 3.

The incident began at 7:53 p.m., when a deputy from the Sheriff's Alpine Substation observed an unoccupied stolen vehicle in the Viejas Casino parking lot. He and his partners monitored the vehicle and observed two men get into the car and proceed out of the parking lot.

A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, later identified as Carl Noble, 25, fled westbound on Willows Road at a high rate of speed. Less than a minute later, Noble struck another uninvolved motorist causing both vehicles to careen off of the road into a shallow ravine. The other vehicle was occupied by three adults and a minor. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

The driver fled on foot, but was soon apprehended with the assistance of ASTREA and a Sheriff's K-9, according to Sergeant Cross.

Noble was treated at the hospital and booked into the San Diego Central Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading and hit and run. Noble also has an extensive criminal history. The passenger in the stolen vehicle was identified as Michael Solis, 33. Solis was detained and treated at a nearby hospital for complaints of pain. The investigation is still on-going .

One of the adults in the other vehicle was transported to the hospital for complaints of pain, while the others were evaluated and released at the scene. CHP conducted the traffic investigation report.
