SUSPECTED GANG SHOOTING IN EL CAJON

 December 2, 2011 (El Cajon)--Around 5:50 p.m. yesterday, El Cajon Police Communications Division began receiving 911 calls reporting several shots being fired in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 380 N. Mollison Avenue in El Cajon. Witnesses reported seeing about 10 to 15 people, some of them documented gang members, in the parking lot when the suspect exited the passenger side of a light colored, full-size sport utility vehicle.

"The suspect confronted the group and produced a hand gun. The suspect fired several rounds at the group as they ran from the area," said Lt. J.D. Arvan.


When officers arrived, all involved parties had fled the area.  A short time
later, a shooting victim was located at an area hospital.  The shooting victim had been driven to the hospital by an unidentified private party. The victim sustained two gunshot wounds to his legs, none of which are considered life threatening.


The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult in his late thirties,
5'-8", 180lbs with dark curly hair.
