March 6, 2015 (Spring Valley)—A 14-year-old Monte Vista High School student has been arrested after a gun was found in his locker, the Sheriff reports.
After students reported that a fellow student had a gun, the campus in Spring Valley was placed in lockdown during a search that found a Western-style gun and drugs in the teen’s locker.
Three other schools were locked down in San Diego earlier today after an anonymous e-mail threat was sent to district officials. The lockdowns were imposed at Lewis Middle School in Allied Gardens, Thurgood Marshall Middle School in Scripps Ranch and Magnolia Science Academy in San Carlos.
At a fourth campus, Lincoln Park, students sheltered in place, Times of San Diego reports.
Today’s school security crackdowns come on the heels of an arrest yesterday in Lakeside of a woman who threatened to “shoot up” a Lakeside school, prompting lockdown or tightened security measures at several Lakeside campuses.
