June 21, 2011 (El Cajon) – “We had some uninvited guests last night drive right up to our front porch. Check out the great parking job,” Jim Symington stated in an e-mail sent to ECM and friends.
The accident occurred last night around 10 p.m. at the home of Jim and Nikki Symington on Tyrone Street in the Fletcher Hills neighborhood. The car also knocked down powerlines, taking down power to some 200 residences ,according to Incident Page Network.
“Just got our electricity back an hour ago,” the Symington’s email, sent at 1:34 p.m., noted.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. “The teenagers walked away with a few scratches,” said Symington, an instructor at Grossmont College.
However the crash toppled a mailbox, knocked over a telephone pole and damaged plants, he added, noting that trucks worked through the night to repair the damage.

Power outage in Fletcher Hills
Thanks Coach for informing the public about this. That drag racing that was done by those teenagers left the entire neighborhood without power from about 10 p.m. to 10:14 a.m. the next day. Thanks also to those hardworking people who came out in the middle of the night to make those repairs. Too bad teenagers were using a narrow, 25 mph neighborhood street for racing. It is a miracle that no one was hurt.
