May 12, 2012 (El Cajon) – Winners and participants of the Third Grade Essay Contest will be recognized June 4 in a ceremony at the Ronald Reagan Community Center, 195 E. Douglas Ave., El Cajon at 7:00 p.m. Local students learning about pioneers and settlers are invited to write an essay.
The program, sponsored by the El Cajon Historical Society, bestows trophies and cash awards to the top three winners and trophies to special category winners. This year’s categories include a Centennial topic. Each child will receive a certificate of participation.
The event is open to the public and historical characters of early El Cajon will be in attendance. For more information visit www.elcajonhistory.org.
