THREE-WHEELER CRASH KILLS MAN,INJURES TODDLER IN LAKESIDE

Update: The victim has been identified as Richard Taylor, 68, of Lakeside.

July 11, 2023 (Lakeside) – A Lakeside father died at the scene of a solo-vehicle three-wheel motorcycle crash last night that injured his 2-year-old son, a passenger.

The man was driving a 1984 red Honda 250SX eastbound on Serena Road in Lakeside around 7:30 p.m. when he missed a curve and traveled off the road. Both the driver and the young boy were ejected onto the roadway; neither wore a seatbelt.

he child was transported by ambulance to Rady Children’s Hospital.

“This is an ongoing investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this crash,” says Officer Jared Grieshaber with the California Highway Patrol.  The identity of the deceased will be released through the Medical Examiner’s Office.
