

June 21, 2024 (El Cajon) – Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. El Cajon Police officers were alerted to a stolen Mazda 3 by automated license plate reader cameras as the vehicle entered El Cajon. The vehicle was reported stolen out of San Diego a little over one week ago.
Officers were able to find the vehicle parked near Emerald Avenue and Laguna Avenue and after a short foot pursuit, arrested two people from the stolen car.
The driver of the stolen car was identified as 31-year-old Oswald Deleon. Deleon has a lengthy arrest history spanning more than a decade and includes domestic violence and theft related offenses. Deleon also had an active DUI warrant for his arrest. The passenger of the vehicle was identified as 41-year-old La Mesa resident Brandy Kittle. Kittle has a criminal history of mostly traffic related offenses and was arrested for an active warrant. Both people were booked into local jails.
“The El Cajon Police Department will continue to use the comprehensive network of ALPR cameras to hold criminals accountable, and as they enter El Cajon, they will be arrested. Criminal acts will not be tolerated and will have consequences for those who commit them,” says Chief Mike Moulton
