Guests to be treated to free meal at Harvest Buffet, $100,000 Bingo celebration and a Corvette giveaway
August 22, 2011 (Alpine) –Viejas Casino is celebrating its 20th anniversary with special events and promotions during September--including a drawing for a 2012 Corvette. On September 13, Viejas Casino says “thank you” to its guests and supporters with a free meal at the award-winning Harvest Buffet.
Viejas Casino, one of the first casinos in California, was formally established on September 13, 1991, ushering in an era of tribal government gaming in California which has provided casino gaming, entertainment and dining to hundreds of thousands of people from California and beyond. Tribal gaming, supported by California voters in two statewide propositions, also ushered in a new era of economic self-sufficiency for Viejas and many other tribes, ending generations of poverty and dependence for many Native Americans.
To recognize Viejas Casino’s 20th Anniversary, there will be a tribal blessing with sage-burning at the casino’s south entrance at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, along with historic bird-singing, which dates back over 10,000 years in Kumeyaay history. There will also be free food and entertainment in the V Lounge and a drawing for a 2012 Corvette at 8 p.m. In addition to the Corvette, one lucky guest will win $20,000 and eight guests will each win $2,000. The celebration continues at the Viejas bingo pavilion, where $100,000 is guaranteed to be given away. Reservations can be made at the casino or online at www.viejas.com.
