February 15, 2016 (Santee) -- On Saturday, February 20th, at 8 a.m., Santee City Councilman John Minto will be leading a fitness walk through Mast Park in Santee. The award-winning park winds along the banks of the San Diego River between Carlton Hills Boulevard and Cuyamaca Street.  Participants will view natural habitat areas and follow the trail system surrounding the park, while enjoying a nice walk.

John Minto says, “I am just like many others. As I get older, parts seem to not work so well. Now is the time for me to do something about it.”  He urges, “Be active and evaluate your eating habits. I have found it didn’t take much to make a difference. I want people to be healthy and happy.”

Walk WithThe Councilman began as part of January’s “Santee Health Awareness Month”. Last month, the walk was held at Santee’s Walker Preserve, and will be a monthly event in Santee.

The upcoming February 20th walk is free and open to the public.  If you wish to participate, you can meet at the parking lot of Mast Park at 9125 Carlton Hills Blvd. in Santee, at 8 a.m. You can also check out the event page on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/1690435741228754/.
