March 6, 2011(San Diego’s East County) – The National Weather Service has issued a wind warning for Monday, starting at 1 a.m. and ending at 10 p.m. A trough of low pressure moving in from the northwest behind a cold front will generate very strong west winds in the mountains and deserts, with gusts of 55-70 mph along mountain ridges and on desert slopes, extending down to the desert floor.
Strongest winds will be Monday morning and afternoon, making driving difficult for all motorists especially those driving high-profile vehicles. Motorists are advised to watch for broken tree limbs and downed power lines.
