WOMAN INJURED DURING PURSE SNATCHING AT GROSSMONT CENTER

January 27, 2011 (La Mesa) – A woman walking to her car in the Wal-Mart parking lot at Grossmont Center had her purse stolen last night around 6:30 p.m.The victim was approached from behind by the suspect, who grabbed the purse by the strap and attempted to flee. The victim tried unsuccessfully to hold onto her puse, twisting her lower back during the struggle.

 

Once the suspect was able to get the purse from the victim, he ran to a waiting dark-colored, four-door vehicle and fled eastbound on Murray Drive. The alleged purse thief was described as a Hispanic or Black male, 20-25 years old, about 5’11”, 180 Lbs., wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt with the hood pulled up over his head, and blue jeans. The victim could not provide a description of the driver, a second suspect in this case.
