December 8, 2011 (San Diego)--The Orange Line’s fifth annual Holiday Entertainment Series starts Monday morning December 12 at the 62nd  Street/Encanto Trolley Station. Jazz vocalist  Rodney Hutsona kicks off the series which will also include performers from the Southeastern San Diego area.

November 21, 2011 (El Cajon) – While the book industry abounds with change and uncertainty, one local publisher continues its holiday tradition that has spanned over a quarter of a century. Sunbelt Publications invites the public to its warehouse for a celebration of literature in the holiday season.

On Thursday, December 8 from 4:30 to 8:30, Sunbelt Publications will host its annual holiday party with the 2011 theme: Eat, Drink, and be Literary.

December 7, 2011 (San Diego) -- Kensington Community Church (KCC), United Church of Christ, celebrated the season with its second annual Las Posadas in Kensington production on Saturday, Dec. 3. Put on by the church’s Middle and High School Youth Group, the outdoor reenactment of the Christmas story featured a candlelit community procession with the angel, Mary, Joseph and the donkey as they were turned away by innkeepers at Kensington Café and Starbucks.

December 6, 2011 (Mt. Helix)--Put on those sweaters, collect your family and head up to Mt. Helix Park on Sunday, December 11 at 6 p.m. for free sing-along caroling.
 
Gina Seashore, known as "That Music Lady," will be leading an evening of singing to all the favorites. There will be coffee, hot cocoa and even a visit from Santa. SPRITES will be providing free baked goods.

AN EVENING OF CHRISTMAS MUSIC, "AND HIS NAME SHALL BE CALLED WONDERFUL" DEC 11

 December 6, 2011 (Santee) -- Talented singers of the combined adult and children's/youth choir will present an evening of Christmas Music entitled, "And His Name Shall be Called Wonderful." One performance only will be held at 6:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 10052 Magnolia Avenue in Santee.


The performance is free and open to the public. There will be a variety of musical performances, including a handchime choir and a violinist, along with a live nativity. Refreshments will be served following the performance.

December 2, 2011 (San Diego) -- PCI (Project Concern International) and the Strong, Healthy Empowered (SHE) group of PCI volunteers are planning the third annual Santa party and health fair in collaboration with PCI’s California Border Healthy Start (CBHS) Program on December 7, 2011 at the Jacobs Market Creek Plaza on Euclid and Market from 2-4 p.m. The event will feature educational programs to include dental screening, healthy nutrition, and health resources. Santa will be entertaining children and their families with toys for the children, crafts and refreshments.

Her mom,  Cheryl Smith, helped Hannah open the shop to bring glitzy Western wear to East County—and to provide a better future for Hannah, a student at El Capitan High School in Lakeside.
