PADRE DAM BREAKS GROUND ON ADVANCED WATER PURIFICATION DEMONSTRATION PROJECT

 

Project to begin operation in early 2015

October 23, 2014 (Santee)--With California’s ongoing drought and the cost of imported water continuing to rise, Padre Dam Municipal Water District broke ground yesterday on its new Advanced Water Purification Demonstration Project. The project, funded through a three million dollar Proposition 50 grant from the Department of Water Resources, will use advanced water purification technologies to potentially diversify East County’s water supply by providing a new source of water that is safe, reliable, locally controlled and drought-proof. The project is scheduled to begin operation in March 2015.

PADRE DAM AWARDS CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR ADVANCED WATER PURIFICATION DEMONSTRATION PROJECT

 

Colorado company, Integrated Water Services, Inc. awarded contract

Santee, CA – Padre Dam Municipal Water District’s Board of Directors approved a $1,547,000 contract to Integrated Water Services to construct a new Advanced Water Purification Demonstration Project on September 3. The contract, funded through a three million dollar state grant, includes the construction and  installation of a pilot demonstration plant that will use Advanced Water Purification (AWP) technologies to provide a potential new source of water that is safe, reliable, locally controlled, drought-proof and environmentally sound.
