September 22, 2016 (Alpine) -- The Alpine Mountain Empire Chamber of Commerce will present new year-end holiday opportunities for residents, businesses, organizations and vendors.
“The parade and snow festival is the biggest and best event ever to promote the community to those who may not be familiar with Alpine,” said Mary Rynearson, new Chamber president and CEO. “It also helps develop our local spirit of camaraderie.”
As part of the Chamber’s five-year plan to brighten the rural community with lights during November and December, there will be a prize for the best decorated business building by Nov. 30 in the village.
More prizes will be awarded on Dec. 2 for the best-decorated parade entry and vendor’s booth during Chamber’s free 21st Annual Alpine Village Christmas Parade of Lights & Snow Festival. The glowing evening in the foothills draws people from around San Diego County.
The only requirement for the parade down Alpine Boulevard has always been lights on every entry. There’s still free sledding on real snow at the Snow Festival at the Alpine Creek Town Center, 1347 Tavern Road.
This year the Chamber is encouraging businesses that can’t be at the festival to have sidewalk sales that evening.
There is no duplication of services or foods at the Snow Festival. Booth prices are $15 for nonprofit organizations, $40 for businesses. Event sponsorships start at $500. There are also newspaper and booklet advertising opportunities.
Call the Chamber at (619) 445-2722 for more information.
