December 6, 2012 (San Diego’s East County)—Grossmont College’s Symphony Orchestra and Master Chorale will present a Baroque Christmas Concert on December 11 and 12 in East County and San Diego. The performances will feature beloved music from the Baroque masters: Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Biber and Charpentier, as well as violin solos by Michael Dvoskin and Luay Yousif.
On Tuesday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m., the program will be presented at St. Peter Chaldean Catholic Church, 1627 Jamacha Way in Rancho San Diego (the unincorporated portion of El Cajon).
On Wednesday, December 12 at 7:30 p.m. the Baroque concert will also be performed at the All Saints Episcopal Church, 6th and Pennsylvania Avenues in Hillcrest.
Both concerts are free, though a free will offering is suggested.
Grossmont College’s Department of Music features an award-winning faculty of local and nationally renowned performers, conductors, composers and teachers serving over 60 undergraduate music majors and a student body of over 20,000 students. Under direction of Randall Tweed, the 75-member Grossmont Symphony Orchestra and Master Chorale ensembles include music and non-music majors, music teachers, and talented musicians from the community.
