March 27, 2015 (San Diego’s East County) --  A body believed to be that of a missing 18-year-old San Diego State University student has been found in Lake Murray.

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department launched a search Thursday after the teen’s wallet, cellphone, backpack, shoes and other belongings were found beside the lake with footprints leading into the water.  Authorities later found a suicide note in the teen’s dorm room.

The body was found on Friday by a robotic submersible at a depth of 65 feet in reservoir, which provides drinking water for area residents.

An autopsy will be conducted to confirm the victim’s identity and cause of death. The name of the SDSU student has not been released, pending notification of family.
