September 16, 2018 (San Diego) - ECM Sports got our first look at SDSU women’s soccer tonight.  Contrary to the men’s side, the lady Aztecs are struggling so far, sitting at 2-5.  Tonight would be no different as the Aztecs faced an always-tough opponent in the Bruins of No. 8 UCLA.

UCLA kept pushing and pushing and holding SDSU to no shots on goal in the first half and in the 27th minute, it finally paid off.  Senior Hailie Mace tapped it past SDSU redshirt junior goalkeeper Gabby English from the left side to give the Bruins the lead.  UCLA potted one more before the half was out in the form of sophomore Karina Rodriguez’s nice long kick from the middle of the crease in the 44th minute to make it 2-0 Bruins at the half.

Right after the referee blew his whistle to begin the second half, UCLA went straight back to scoring, starting with a slow trickler off the post and in by sophomore Delanie Sheehan in the 45th minute.  The Bruins stopped the Aztecs from getting any shots on goal or any scoring opportunities, defeating them in that category 17-0 and blanking SDSU with a 3-0 victory causing the Aztecs to fall to 2-6 on the season.
