November 28, 2009 (Spring Valley) - Shortly after noon today, Sheriff deputies responded to a burglary alarm at La Presa Elementary School in Spring Valley.  The alarm company reported their audio surveillance system was picking up voices from inside the school. Deputies set a perimeter around the school with the assistance of ASTREA. Shortly after the deputies’ arrival, four suspects were spotted.

According to a press release issued by San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore, the suspects refused deputies orders to stop, and began running to the rear of the school. The subjects jumped the rear inner fence and soon realized they were surrounded. All four suspects surrendered and were taken into custody.

At the time of their arrest, the suspects were wearing plastic gloves and were carrying backpacks. Property belonging to the school was found inside the suspects’ backpacks. All four suspects are juveniles and their ages range from 13 to 17 years of age. The suspects were transported to Juvenile Hall, and the investigation is continuing.
