All three of the County’s shelters are offering a buy one, get one free special now through Sunday, July 16. The first will cost $58 and well, you know the rest. That one adoption fee will cover both furry felines and includes spaying or neutering, microchips with national registration, current vaccinations and free veterinary exams within the first 10 days.

The kittens are available in every stripe and color, and there are hundreds to choose from.

“We have about 300 kittens right now in our shelters or in foster care,” said County Animal Services Director Daniel DeSousa. “We offer a two-for-one special because kittens are best adopted in pairs.”

DeSousa says the littles ones are still growing. They need each other’s company to grow emotionally, socially and sometimes physically. Pairs are easier on the cat owners too because the kittens will play together and keep each other entertained.

The special applies to kittens under six months old and there is a limit of two per household.

To see some of the available kittens, check out the County Animal Services website. The three shelters are open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. For more information, call (619) 767-2675 or visit sddac.com.
