CARJACKING AT GUITAR CENTER NEAR GROSSMONT CENTER

August 17, 2010 (La Mesa) – La Mesa Police received a 911 call reporting a carjacking at 2:39 p.m. today. A driver and his passenger told police that they were parked in the lot at the Guitar Center, 8825 Murray Drive in La Mesa, when a man with a revolver forced them out of the victim’s car.  The suspect drove away in the victim's vehicle, a black1998 Honda Civic 4-door, CA license 4MDM901.

 

He was last seen driving southbound on Grossmont Center Dr. toward Interstate 8. Police describe the suspect as a black male adult, 25-27 years old, light complexion, short hair, full beard, wearing a lime green button down long sleeve shirt, slacks, and armed with a black revolver.

 

The suspect may have had an accomplice, who was driving a new rental vehicle, 4-door, dark green in color with white and blue paper plates.

 

The victim was not injured during this crime. This investigation is continuing. If you have information, call La Mesa Police at (619) 667-1400.
