COACH ARRESTED, ACCUSED OF SEX WITH STUDENT

July 10, 2011 (San Diego) – Jose Antonio Carrillo, 49, a resident of Encanto, has pleaded not guilty to charges that he had a sexual affair with a 16-year-old female student. Carillo served as a volunteer field hockey coach at Bonita Vista High School in Otay and also was an instructor at Jackie Robinson YMCA in San Diego.

Carrillo was arrested July 6 during a tournament at the ARCO Olympic Training Center, according to Chula Vista Police. He allegedly carried on a sexual relationship with the girl for a full year, until the victim’s aunt questioned the girl about an unfamiliar cell phone given to her by Carrillo and the teen admitted to the affair.
 

Carrillo has been charged with sexual intercourse with a minor, oral copulation and sodomy with a minor. He entered a not guilty plea on Friday. He is being held on $380,000 bail and could face up to seven years and eight months in prison if convicted.
