December 7, 2011 (San Diego)--Last night, comedian Rick Gene was on stage at the bistro at San Diego Desserts, making people laugh when suddenly his language was inaudible and he started looking very strange. 911 was called and he was taken to Alvarado Hospital. The emergency room doctor did tests and said he had a mild stroke.

Brew Ha Ha Comedy, organizer of the event, has asked Rick Gene back next week to finish what he started on stage.

“Comedy is what I do best; that wasn’t the first time I almost died on stage. See you next Tuesday!” the resilient comic commented.

See Rick Gene's triumphant return at The Bistro at San Diego Desserts, 5987 University Ave., San Diego on December 13.
