Chasing A Dream In The Galapagos: A Personal Evolution

I was recently mailed a book written by Bette Blaydes Pegas, "Chasing A Dream In The Galapagos: A Personal Evolution," for my review. As Bette had recently attended the Barnes & Noble - Grossmont "Authors Event," which I arranged and moderated, I was made aware that she is a member of the San Diego Writers/Editors Guild, as well am I. While skimming through Bette's memoir, it seems to be a fascinating story, which I hope to get to as soon as I can. As I had indicated to Bette and others at the Barnes & Noble Authors Event that I had about 15 books on my desk, awaiting reviews, it may take some time. Bette's book is a San Diego Book Awards Winner.

Chasing a Dream in the Galapagos: A Personal Evolution

I really benefitted by attending the Grossmont Author's Event at Barnes & Noble in La Mesa. Not only did I learn from local author presenters--I also met Dennis, a great promoter of local authors, and became a subscriber to the East County Magazine. It's exciting to be a part of great local writer groups like the San Diego Writers/Editors Guild. Other writers are the only ones that understand the challenges of marketing a book. As Dennis mentioned, my memoir on the Galapagos is a San Diego Book Awards winner. I will be doing book talks and showing Galapagos slides this summer at the Cardiff, La Mesa, and Ramona libraries in June and at the Casa de Oro, Bonita-Sunnyside, Rancho San Diego, and El Cajon libraries in July and August.
