SANTEE MAYOR TRASHES LOCAL CLEAN ENERGY GROUP

Voepel's beliefs share much in common with Flat Earth Society views

By Miriam Raftery

September 16, 2011 (Santee) – SanDiego350.org, a coalition of three dozen  community organizations, invited local officials to participate in a Sept. 24 event titled “Moving San Diego to a Clean Energy Future.” Far from fringe extremists, the group includes major entities such as the American Lung Association, U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce, San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council, Sustainability Alliance of Southern California, and Earthcare at First United Methodist Church.

Santee Mayor Randy Voepel fired back a vitriolic response. “I do not believe that climate change is man made,” the Mayor said in an e-mail declining the invitation, calling himself a “proud, Rush Limbaugh, Tea party, Conservative that will never cease fighting socialism.”

Voepel went on to state that he believes the “sun’s solar cycle” is the greatest influence on climate change and that “mankind’s impact on the climate is less than 2 tenths of a percent and even that is a challenge to the computer models to track with any accuracy.” He added, “I believe that `climate change’ is a fabrication of the left wing environmental types that are inherently anti-capitalist and liberal to the Nth degree. Al Gore and his misguided followers are sending this country to ruin in the name of a false “Climate Change” premise.”

His signature line carries the title “Mayor, city of Santee, located in the People’s Republic of California, United Socialist States of America.”

Event organizers expressed disbelief, then amusement at Voepel’s fiery response.

While the Mayor is entitled to his opinion, there are some key flaws in Voepel’s conclusions.

An ECM investigation of current findings on climate science finds Voepel’s theories to be about as credible as the beliefs held by Flat Earth Society members who failed to accept that the earth was round even after Columbus discovered America, proving that one could sail across the ocean without falling off the edge of the world. (Not even photographs of a circular earth shot from space have dispelled the irrational beliefs of that society’s members, who to this day cling to their discredited ideas on a website devoted to debunking the round earth "theory.")

Like the flat earth ideology, Voepel’s belief that sun solar cycles are causing global warming has been solidly debunked by numerous credible scientists and scientific organizations.

“If warming were caused by an increase in solar radiation, warming of both the stratosphere [upper atmosphere] as well as the lower atmosphere and surface would be expected, which is not what has been observed,” Francis Moore, research associate at the Climate Institute has stated. Instead, only the lower levels of the atmosphere have shown substantial heating, a finding consistent with warming caused by CO2 emissions on earth creating greenhouse gases.

Moreover, the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory and NASA provided analysis in 2006 which indicated that “solar forcing contributed neglible long-term warming in the past 25 years and 10% of the warming in the past 100 years.”

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Organization (NOAA) similarly has concluded that “the contribution of direct solar irradiance forcing is small compared to the greenhouse gas component.”

As for the mayor’s belief that climate change is man-made, that view runs contrary to the overwhelming majority of scientific experts worldwide.

“Warning that the risk of dangerous climate change impacts is growing with every ton of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere, a National Research Council committee today reiterated the pressing need for substantial action to limit the magnitude of climate change and to prepare to adapt to its impacts,” stated a joint press release issued in May 2011 by the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Medicine, and the National Research Council.

U.S. options for responding to the risks posed by climate change are analyzed in a new report and the final volume in America's Climate Choices, a series of studies requested by Congress. The committee that authored the report, which clearly concludes climate change is real and man-made, included not only renowned scientists and engineers but also economists, business leaders, an ex-governor, a former congressman, and other policy experts.

Globally, 32 national science academies have come together to issue joint declarations confirming man-made global warming, and urging nations of the world to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases.

National and international science academies and scientific societies have assessed the current scientific opinion, in particular on recent global warming. These assessments have largely followed or endorsed the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) position of January 2001 which states: “An increasing body of observations gives a collective picture of a warming world and other changes in the climate system... There is new and stronger evidence that most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities.”

The IPCC panel of leading worldwide scientists was established by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), two organizations of the United Nations and shared a 2007 Nobel Prize for its work.

Not a single scientific body of national or international standing has maintained a dissenting opinion. Even the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, which has a vested interest in promoting fossil fuels, in 2007 updated its position to be noncommittal on climate change.

As for those skeptics who still believe global warming isn’t occurring at all, or that it is merely part of a historical cycle, here is a chart from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency documenting the recent and extreme spike in carbion dioxide levels in our planet's atmosphere:

Details of invitation that Mayor Voepel declined

Moving Planet is a worldwide rally taking place at hundreds of locations on September 24 to call for more viable solutions to climate change from elected representatives. In San Diego, organizers plan to march about 1.2 miles in Balboa Park, followed by a rally with speakers. Marchers will gather at 11 a.m. on the East (Balboa Park) side of Sixth Avenue between Laurel and Juniper. The rally will start at 12:30 p.m. at the San Diego Sports Museum/Hall of Champions area at2131 Pan American Plaza.

Organizers say that San Diego elected representatives need to do more to promote local and global solutions to climate change. The event will highlight the ways in which climate change will affect the San Diego region, as well as the steps that policymakers need to take to address greenhouse gas emissions and incentives for sustainable infrastructure.

“It’s wonderful to see the way that San Diego environmental groups have come together in such an enthusiastic and concerted manner to demand political solutions based on the science of climate change,” lead organizer and Sierra Club volunteer Masada Disenhouse said. “Climate change is an issue that reaches all areas of the world, and with this rally, we want to inform San Diego residents that their city will be hit hard by temperature and sea level changes. We need to hold our elected representatives accountable in every manner possible.”

San Diego organizers say that many issues involved in the Moving Planet discussion relate directly to the San Diego region, including the San Diego 2050 Regional Transportation Plan, the current and future possibilities for investments in clean energy jobs, and putting a price on carbon.

According to Bill Powers, author of “San Diego Smart Energy 2020” and the San Diego Sierra Club representative on SANDAG’s Regional Energy Working Group, “There is no question that San Diego County could reduce its carbon emissions by at least 50% by moving to a distributed energy model and increasing the percentage of renewable energy sources in the mix.”

Marshall Saunders, founder and President of Citizens Climate Lobby, says, “What we need ispolicies that will reduce carbon emissions and spur activity in the emerging clean-energy market –policies that are transparent and predictable while still keeping energy costs low for the great majority of Americans."

Speakers confirmed for the Balboa Park rally include Saunders, Powers, Congressman Bob Filner, Mayor Lesa Heebner, and other leading local advocates for environmental change. In addition, local faith representatives will address the environmental crisis during a pre-rally interfaith panel.

“We have diverse participants who represent a variety of philosophical and theological perspectives,” panel organizer and San Diego Earthkeepers co-founder Phil Petrie said.

There are, of course, some practical reasons for supporting turning San Diego green--even if you still don't believe in global warming.  Our region is fast emerging as a national hub for cleantech and green jobs.

To learn more about the events, visit www.SanDiego350.org. A YouTube promotional video for the rally is available there, as well as information regarding public transportation and organized bike rides to and from the event.

Union-Trib runs editorial in favor of green jobs

The UT is not exactly a bastion of left wing ideals.  But this official UT editorial makes clear that the transition to a green economy is key to our economic future. Below is an excerpt; full editorial is at this link:

http://web.signonsandiego.com/news/2011/sep/18/the-green-jobs-transition/

By ignoring the big picture of the Great Recession, purveyors of misinformation about green jobs have recently had a field day. With viral sharing on the web, these critics have no doubt influenced public opinion. Add a healthy dose of skepticism and disappointment about the ability of Washington to do much for Main Street, and some are ready to abandon the quest for green jobs entirely. This would be a catastrophic error of historic proportions.

So where are we with green and clean jobs? Without a map, it’s hard to understand or traverse the green economy landscape, especially while carrying the load of the Great Recession on our backs. Yet there is every indication we are well on our way in the transition to a green economy.

The green jobs and economy shift is locally based, so we need to look there first. California and San Diego are on the leading edge of this transition...in San Diego, intensive efforts to grow a clean-tech cluster have produced results that are the envy of the nation. More than 800 clean-tech companies have taken root. Local small business is creating consumer-focused products and services. This also drives local job creation, as does energy and solar retrofits of buildings and homes. Furthermore, large organizations in the public, private and nonprofit sectors are implementing sustainability and energy efficiency practices, which is also creating quality jobs and contracts.

Nonpartisan studies show a clear trend. The Brookings Institution released a report on the green economy that found there are 2.7 million green jobs, with California in the lead. The U.S. Conference of Mayors estimates that the number of green jobs will almost triple by 2040.

Randy Voepel's Mandate as Mayor

The citizens of Santee did not elect Randy Voepel mayor to kiss polar bears and hug trees. He properly declines to divert his energies from the task of governing the City of Santee at the bullying demands of politically correct special interest organizations.

Give us a complete copy of Mayor Voepel's letter, Ms. Raftery, instead of your carefully selected excerpts.

Voepel complete letter

Here is the full text of Mayor Voepel's letter to event organizers, most of which we already quoted in our story:

I respectfully decline your invitation. I do not believe that climate

change is man made.

I believe that there are many factors that influence climate change,

with the suns solar cycles being one of the greatest. Mankind's impact

on the climate is less than 2 tenths of a percent and even that is a

challenge to the computer models to track with any accuracy.

I believe that "climate change" is a fabrication of the left wing

environmental types that are inherently anti- capitalist and liberal to

the Nth degree.

Al Gore and his misguided followers are sending this country to ruin in

the name of a false "Climate Change" premise.

Best regards,

Columbus Myth

Miriam Raftery's history is somewhat distorted by tales her 3rd grade teacher told her. Scientists before Cleopatra's time knew that the earth is a sphere. Columbus did not prove that the earth is not flat: He proved that one could get to Marco Polo's China by sailing west across the Atlantic. Oops!

Columbus knew there was a land mass thataway because 500 years earlier, during the Medieval Warm Period, seafarers from Greenland established a colony in North America. Further colonization of America by the Vikings was thwarted by the reversal of the Medieval Warm Period.

The Medieval Warm Period is only one of the historically and geologically authenticated global warming episodes frantically denied by the AGW promoters. The earth has been in a fluctuating global warming period ever since the great continental ice sheets started retreating over 15,000 years ago.

Local scientists rebuts Voepel global warming remarks

Danny Richter, leader of the Citizens Climate Lobby, La Jolla and a PhD candidate at Scripps Institute of Oceanography sent ECM the following comments on Mayor Voepel’s claim that the sun is responsible for current warming.

“As we all know, it is not, but it turns out this is a particularly bad argument as the sun is actually at an unusually low point in its warming effect,” he wrote. “I refer you to skeptical science, where this is the #2 most common skeptic argument:
http://www.skepticalscience.com/solar-activity-sunspots-global-warming.htm
"I also refer you to a great presentation that Lauren Rafelski, my fellow grad student, put together," he continued. "It is slides 15-23 of the attached presentation (and annotated notes), with slide 22 being particularly damning…I hope this is helpful, though I doubt it will sway a `proud, Rush Limbaugh, Tea party, Conservative that will never cease fighting socialism.'"

Wisdom for Goodness Sake

As a person of faith, I’m grateful to join a multitude of caring, thoughtful and concerned people all helping to Move San Diego Toward a Clean Energy Future.

Jennifer Phillips in her book, Preaching Throughout the Church Year shares, “The wonders of creation – the fresh discoveries from human wisdom and exploration about God’s boundless imagination” can woo us to Call God Love!

I am grateful for the scientists who use wisdom and their imagination for goodness sake. The medical science and scientists who discovered, operated and saved my and many lives from cancer; the climate science that forewarns millions of people to flee approaching hurricanes; The science and engineering that enable the tools and appliances we use. The list of positive breakthroughs grows daily.

That’s why when faith, academic, science communities and the neighborhood services I know and respect; plus my caring family and friends ALL express concern about climate change, I believe I must put prayer and reason into action to call God Love.

With hope!

Of What Faith?

Your response was ridiculous. God has nothing to do with fake global warming science. Christ didn't command us to move to cleaner energy, his only commandments to us were to love our God with all heart and mind and to love our neighbor as ourselves. There is no global warming in that. Global warming, climate change is JUNK science, it is not medical science. Learn the term Agenda 21 or Sustainability. Learn those words because they will be the demise of the US. www.thecaliforniaconservative.com I just posted another article on Agenda 21 and how it's undermining the constitution and taking away private property rights. I live in Santee and I was so proud of our Mayor when I read this. I'm going to personally give him a call and thank him.

Climate Change is Man Made

Thanks Miriam for your great article. Seems a shame that you and others have to write articles proclaiming what science has already confirmed but, as we know, there are many people who make money from the energy supply system as is works now and any change will mean they will lose some of that money.
For anyone out there who is still trying to say that climate change is not real you may want to look at who you are listening to. Don't be surprised to find its the same advertising firm that was telling you that cigarettes don't really cause cancer!

climate change deniers

They tend to fall in one of two broad groups: those who are so afraid of the information they deny it or those who have rea$on to deny it. The first group is probably more common. It often includes those who do not have enough education to understand the science as well as those who figure it didn't affect their ancestors so it can't be real. The second group is much more pernicious. Many of them are PR types who used to work for the tobacco companies and now work for these people using the same techniques that kept tobacco companies wealthy for so long. They use anythng they can get, especially the caution most scientists show in not wanting to go beyond their own research, and yell "See??? Even the scientists don't believe this!" They can always find one or two, often unsuccessful, scientist who will support them. And if they can't, they simply misquote the scientists that do speak to them. They can always find a scientist who will and can argue usually small details of current research. That is what makes a scientist successful. They read the current research and think I don't think this extremely small detail is correct. This doesn't mean the whole paper is wrong, just that one tiny detail. And if the scientist is allowed to speak, they will state that too. The vast majority of scientists do believe that climate change is real and a danger to the planet and to people. Why aren't more of them out protesting and marching? Because they can get into trouble with their employers, because they are as busy as the rest of us in our lives, because they choose to think others can do a better job of arguing this. I'm better off in the labratory. You climate deniers can scream all you want. But don't come crying to me when your house is swept away by rising coastal waters or burnt down by fire that never used to be this intense as in the last decade or so. I'm a native southern Californian. I remember ONE or two really bad fires as a child. Now Texas is burning at a rate never seen before, the Arizona/New Mexico border has had fires of a strength and duration never seen before in the area, etc. It seems to me we had some fires just a few years ago that just about burnt up the county. The Willow Fire mean anything to people any more? It does to insurance companies. They tend to be quite conservative but they acknowledge climate change because their business depends on them facing facts.

Agenda 21 anyone?

Climate change is not a fact, it like evolution is a Theory. You have no way of knowing if Texas or Arizona would burn regardless of participating in some 'climate change prevention' program. Do you hear how retarded that sounds? Climate Change Prevention. Really? You honestly think that mere mortal humans can control the weather? What other magic tricks can you do? Raise people from the dead? Speculation of the past, such as TX and AZ are burning because steps to prevent global warming were not taking is like saying I could have avoided that traffic jam this morning on my way to work when I have to drive that way to get to work. THIS STUFF IS OUT OF YOUR HANDS GIVE IT UP ALREADY NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU BLABBER ON ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE YOU WILL NEVER CONTROL THE WEATHER OR THE CLIMATE. Agenda 21, learn it. Study it. The United Nations is making you sound like a fool on this forum. The United Nations is using Agenda 21, literally named as such for their plans for us in the 21st Century. You are a pawn, a patsy, a useful idiot promoting their brand of Marxism. Get a clue, think for yourself, try some logic. Go here www.thecaliforniaconservative.com and read about Agenda 21 and what a fool it is making out of you.

Don't you care about your children's future???

The only people doing any fear mongering here are the "climate deniers" who have decided we should be afraid of science.

This country and its success are founded on science! It's what gives us our military capacity, and allowed us to become the world's leading economic power.

Thanks to the big $ spent by oil and gas companies (using the same tactics tobacco companies used) some pundits are willing to raise doubts... but the reality is that over 90 percent of scientists agree that climate change is occurring and presents significant threats to our way of life.

The San Diego Foundation's report, produced by local respected scientists, projects more frequent and intense wildfires (which we've already been seeing here in East County), droughts, and coastal flooding that will eliminate some of the counties most popular beaches and flood low-lying residential areas. Worldwide, ocean acidification will lead to mass die offs of sea animals. Temperatures will rise.

Is this the future we want for our children and their children in East San Diego County?

Of course not. We have two choices. We can act now to preserve our lifestyle for future generations or we can abandon our responsibility and leave our children with a climate that will make their lives shorter and harder.

I'll be at the rally and demanding action now on climate change.

Your science is wrong

Another climate fool. Medical science, technology are real science, climate science is nonsense. It's a fairytale. Look up Agenda 21, they don't call it Agenda 21 in the US because the UN knows people will figure it out. They call it 'Sustainable'. This is not science, it's theory and religious ideology you have to have faith in it to believe it. In 1992 GHW Bush signed the first Agenda 21 Soft Treaty and Clinton ordered it followed by executive order. Since then every president has been pushing Agenda 21 Or sustainable solutions on the American People. Well their agenda is against everything that is Constitutional. And for what end? To create the One World Society were everyone is equal (poor) and everyone shares the same space. Agenda 21 which people like unknowingly support are aiding in the tear down of our civilization. Please get a clue, run your google search over Agenda 21, look for Richard Rothschild, Carroll County Maryland. Please, please wake up and do some research on this. I just posted on Agenda 21 at www.thecaliforniaconservative.com Global Warming was debunked by the emails that were hacked and many of the so called global scientists have dropped out of it because they know it's sham. What makes you so much more informed than a scientist who has been there and seen it's not real, or is that you so badly need something to believe in you blindly follow junk science as a God.

Lazy? Sloppy?

You criticize journalists and don't even spell the word correctly.

This story took many hours of research, going to sites of the most credible scientific organizations in the U.S. and worldwide.  We found not one that agreed with the skeptics.  Since paraphrasing convinces no one we quoted directly from these scientific sources. But there are people here who would swear the moon was made of green cheese if Rush Limbaugh or some individual paid off by the oil industry said so.  Folks, read the original sources we linked to. Do you really believe every major scientific organization on earth is wrong?

Our Pledge:If Climate Change isn't real, it should be.

Our Pledge:
We must trust the carbon trading markets and corporations and politicians to manage the temperature of the planet.
We must call it consensus even though all of the thousands of consensus scientists all have their own special, personal and unique views of CO2 climate crisis.
We must trust the good and trustworthy politicians who promise to lower the seas and make the weather colder by taxing the air.
We must continue to believe in climate change crisis despite Obama not even mentioning the crisis in his state of the union address.
We must believe in climate change even though the number of consensus scientists vastly outnumbers the marching climate change protesters.
We must believe in climate change h e l l and spread our love for the planet as we condemn billions to a CO2 death just to make sure the kids turn the lights out more often and vote progressive when they reach voting age.
We must believe even though the thousands of consensus scientists refuse to march in the streets themselves. Don't they have families to save too?

Oh Boy. More save the earth junk science

"Event organizers expressed disbelief" I bet they did. Everyone who stands head to head to the tree huggers causes disbelief. I guess the ECM, is that the East County Magazine or Electronics Counter Measures?, is now on the save the earth and I will only look at save the earth "science" band wagon. I suggest ECM browse to this website and note there are far more in the scientific community who support the crazy Mayor.
http://www.globalwarminghysteria.com

I note you point to an

I note you point to an individual, and are unable to find an actual major, peer-recognized scientific group that believes global warming is not real or not man-made.  There will always be individuals willing to say anything and foster conspiritorial theories for fame or money. Just as their are "doctors" who hype dangerous products and financial "experts" who promote ponzi schemes to dupe innocent people.

Why should wanting to save the earth be viewed as a negative, anyhow? Those who don't care are endangering others, and this is one area where journalists have an obligation to debunk the falsehoods being disseminated.  There are people who claim the moon walk and the Holocaust never happened. That doesn't make it true.  (Dad worked on the Apollo space flights designing trajectories and his parents spent their life savings tracking down the fates of their parents and other relatives who died in concentration camps in WWII, so I have seen first-hand how truth can be distorted to deceive.)

Look at it this way.  If the climate deniers are wrong and we do nothing, our planet roasts and our kids/grandkids die.  Pretty severe consequences for being duped.  If the climate change folks are somehow wrong, worst case is we wean ourselves off nonrenewable resources that pollute our air and water as we create a new "green" economy with jobs and cleaner energy; these technologies are not perfect but overall there are many advantages to this even if one doesn't believe in global warming.  One can find small flaws/errors in any argument, but the vast weight of science lies on the side of climate change that IS a threat to our earth.  Anyone who isn't concerned about that, who won't harbor at least the possibility that this is occurring and dangerous, is like an ostrich with their head in the sand.

For the record I do not make a penny from any organization for promoting any view on this or any other issue.

Santee mayor

Who elected this buffoon? I'm stunned at how proudly he parades his ignorance. I'm guessing he has--maybe--a high school education at best? Would he even pass a high school civics class today? We should expect far more from our civic leaders. We can't afford not to. Thanks to the Editor for responding here with the cold, hard facts.

I love the Mayor of Santee

He is clearly not as ignorant as you buying into already proven to be junk science. Look up agenda 21, read it, study it and then take off your blinders and see it for what it is: designed to put you into stacked apartment buildings and riding bicycles to your most furthest destination. There are NO cold hard facts on 'global warming' or 'climate change' their junk science keeps changing. Why was it Global Warming and then emails were found saying it was junk science so now it is Climate Change. Cold hard facts that is hysterical, they just repeated the same junk science theories that Globalist repeat. Really, get a clue. Research Agenda 21, that will enlighten you. The only buffoons are going to be the ones who can't see through the United Nations lies. They will take our guns, our land, our houses and stuff us one on top of another for housing. What kind of fool thinks that CO2, what we breath out and plants breath in is causing global warming. The kind of fool who doesn't understand if you can't breathe out, you can no longer breathe in and if you can't breathe in you die. Did you know that Agenda 21 clearly states it goal of killing off a third of the worlds population. You gonna volunteer to be one of the first one's to go?

...FORGIVE MY ALL-CAPS...

Who elected this buffoon? THE VOTERS OF SANTEE. I'm stunned at how proudly he parades his ignorance. I'M STUNNED AT HOW PROUDLY YOU PARADE YOUR IGNORANCE AS WELL. I'm guessing he has--maybe--a high school education at best? YOU'D BE GUESSING WRONG. AND WHAT IF HE DID? SO WHAT IF HE DIDNT SIT AT THE FEET OF A BUNCH OF LIBERAL COMMUNIST PROFESSORS AT A LIBERAL COMMUNIST COLLEGE, WHICH 90% OF COLLEGES IN AMERICA COULD BE CONSIDERED. Would he even pass a high school civics class today? CONSIDERING HE HAS A DEGREE, I SUPPOSE HE HAD TO. AND WHAT ABOUT YOU, HAVE YOU PASSED A CIVICS CLASS? We should expect far more from our civic leaders. I THINK HE IS DOING A GREAT JOB. WHO ARE YOU? JUST BECAUSE HE DISAGREES WITH YOUR SILLY ECO-RELIGION THAT MAN IS CHANGING THE CLIMATE HE IS SOMEHOW LACKING? We can't afford not to. Thanks to the Editor for responding here with the cold, hard facts. COLD HARD FACTS? REALLY? ALL I SEE IS MORE PSEUDO-SCIENCE THAT IS POLITICALLY MOTIVATED AND PRESSURED TO SAY THAT MAN IS CAUSING CLIMATE CHANGE - NOT TO SAVE THE CLIMATE, BUT TO DESTROY THE ECONOMY OF THE ONE NATION HOLDING THE WORLD TOGETHER. COMMUNISTS WANT TO RULE THE WORLD, BUT CANT DO IT WITH THE USA IN THE WAY. THEY HAVE TRIED EVERY OTHER MEANS AND FAILED, NOW THEY USE PSEUDO SCIENCE TO GET US TO LEGISLATE US INTO POVERTY SO THAT WE CAN TRY AND LOWER THE MEAN TEMPERATURE BY .8 DEGREES (THE AMT THAT THESE SO CALLED SCIENTISTS SAY THE WORLD HAS INCREASED OVER 100 YEARS. BIG DEAL. AND IF YOU NEED SOMEONE WITH DEGREES AND PEDIGREES TO BACK THIS UP...HOW ABOUT YOU LOOK AT THE NOBEL LAURATE DR. IVAR GIAVER WHO JUST RESIGNED HIS MEMBERSHIP THE THE APS (AMERICAN PHYSICS SOCIETY) BECAUSE THEY TOO BELIEVE THIS GLOBAL WARMING TRIPE. ARE YOU GOING TO QUESTION HIS DEGREES AND LEARNING AS WELL BECAUSE HE REFUSES TO CAVE TO THE POLITICAL PRESSURES TO 'BELIEVE OR DIE'? YOU ARE JUST AS LAME.

I bet Miriam, used to work

I bet Miriam, used to work for the UT haha...this site is a joke. Sure makes you thankful for real news sites like Drudge report and Fox news , it is fun to stop by and get a good laugh every once in a while.

Dufus

Drudge and Fox also said Obama is a muslim born in Kenya and Iraq had WMD. Just how gullable are you? Dan Rather got fired for telling a known fact that GW Bush is a deserter, in fairness Drudge and Fox should be canceled. That would be fair and balanced.

Climate Criminals Must Be Arrested for Their Fear Mongering

REAL planet lovers are both Democrat and Republican former believers and climate change deniers. We are happy for the planet in avoiding the worst crisis imaginable. We see that the science was a consultant’s wet dream and a tragic exaggeration. We no longer condemn billions of children to a CO2 death with such childish glee and flippancy and now it’s time for criminal charges to be laid for those in science, media and politics and academia who knowingly led us to yet another Bush-like false war of climate fluctuation. We missed getting Bush and his red necked neocons so call the courthouse now!
