September 15, 2013 (San Diego) – In the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act was planted a clause that allows the U.S. military the power to grab U.S. citizens from anywhere, including our homes here in the U.S., and throw us in black prisons forever, no charges needed.  This clause was reviewed and supported by our own Congressman Duncan Hunter, who has stated that he thought this clause was necessary and did not apply to U.S. citizens in country.

I find Mr. Hunter’s position incredulous, or even disingenuous, as clearly this clause gives the military draconian power over our citizenry, killing our right to due process.  In the attached article by Chris Hedges, that threat is clearly laid out, and the fact that only Congress can reverse this power grab if the Supreme Court refuses to hear the case against it.  My question to the citizens of the California 50th District is, what will we do about it?  Let Duncan Hunter deliberately kill our rights, and keep reelecting him?

Congress must act to repeal this clause, and Hunter must lead the charge if he holds his oath to be true.  We the people need to make that very clear to Hunter and demand immediate action as a remedy.

Maybe actually a foe

During the recent showdown in DC I phoned Hunter's El Cajon office and asked if Hunter supported the government shutdown.  They asked if I was the Dave Patterson that wrote the above article, and when I said yes they told me that they wouldn't speak with me because I was "Press", referring me to the DC office, press liazon.

Apparently if your write a not so appealing letter to the editor you are classified Press and they won't talk to you.  I wonder if this applies if you write something glowing about Hunter also?  This does seem to go along with Hunter's "No Video Camera" rule at his town hall events, where those with cameras aren't allowed in.

Is this representation?  Not in my book!

Civil Liberties Violated by Congressman Hunter

It is extremely disheartening to learn that Congressmember Duncan Hunter supported the removal of our civil liberties by our military!  He should remember who elected him and swiftly take action to redress the grievous error of judgment that shows his lack of understanding of basic American rights!  He should read the U.S. Constitutition and immediately change his position!!!.

Maybe

They can pass all the laws they want but until they repeal the Constitution we will see if they actually use this one. The real problem is we have long passed the point where the people should rise up and throw our government out in mass. We could start with our worthless County Board of Supervisors. If the Feds have given up enforcing the Mary Jane laws as 60 Min. reported last night how successful would they be if 1 million people really marched on DC and took over? When do you suppose enough will be enough? Big Brother is Watching You.
