July 10, 2017 (Santee) – Three youths who tried to buy marijuana in Santee wound up fleeing gunfire after they asked to inspect the cannabis before paying for it.  In response to the question, one of the two sellers punched one of the would-be pot buyers, knocking out a tooth.  The second seller pulled out a gun and fired five shots at the fleeing boys, striking his partner as well as one of the buyers, Sergeant William Amavisca with the Sheriff’s department reports.

The fight started shortly after 3 p.m. at a home in the 8700 block of Railroad Avenue in Santee.  After the shooting, the shooter returned to his home with his partner in crime to seek help from the shooter’s parents.  The accomplice, for unexplained reasons, went into the backyard and shot himself in the arm.

The suspected shooter, also a minor, has been arrested and will be charged with four counts of attempted murder followed the pot deal gone wrong, Patch.com reports.

Detectives later located the three would-be pot buyers who fled the scene, including one who had a bullet wound on his foot.  Sergeant Aamvisca has indicated the youths have been cooperative with authorities.
